Storming Scalextric

Hornby have announced sales of Scalextric have beenturbo charged after the success of Formula One driver Lewis Hamilton saw a renewed interest in F1. The group said Hamilton's Vodafone McLaren Mercedes Team range was on track to become a best-seller. UK sales soared by almost a third in the six months to the end of September, helped by new digital control technology for model trains and Scalextric and the Airfix and Humbrol brands, bought last November also contributed positively to sales and profits.
