Meerkats set to arrive in Harrods

The upmarket Kensington store will be the first to stock the Aleksander Orlov talking plush of Comparethemeerkat.com fame. Head over to the website and be welcomed by Alexander himself who told us "Now peoples can have physical reminder that I compare meerkats only, Luxurious toy will appear in Harrods, run by good business friend Mr Al Fayed." The toy is loaded with the "Simples" catchphrase and offers the infamous squeak when his tum is pressed. EAch one sold will see a donation given to the London Zoo Charity ZSL.

We spent some time this week out and about with the latest creation from FurReal, Lulu, a most realistic kitty as you'll see from the footage and peoples reactions. This thrill seeking kitty enjoyed pulling a few stunts and illustrates very well why cats need all nine of their allocated lives.

Cracking Contraptions

Fans of the cheese chomping bufoon and his faithful canine sidekick will be beside themselves with delight at the arival of this new range of gadgets from Wow! Stuff. We've seen plenty of Wallace and Gromit merchandise before but none up to the standard of this kit which could well have been lifted straight from one of the film sets.

Arkham Asylum Collectors set

This marvellous box set has the Caped Crusader inside plus a trio of his deadliest enemies from the Arkham Asylum, Gotham City's home for the criminally insane. Mightyworld characters and kit are impressive

In a sector dominated by LEGO and Playmobil it's hard to see how any other player in the minifigure sector player could come up with fresh ideas for playsets and characters that hadn't already been claimed by the big two (ok or one of the other minnows in this market). Mightyworld has 40 different kits and characters in the range and there is of course some general crossover but the designsand accessories are totally different, not to mention the quite serious facial expressions. There are a couple of great stand-out items which we don't think the other pair of minifigure giants have represented in their range . We have Ed the Painter with his splattered overalls and loads of painting tools and supplies, a Hiking and Camping kit  with a great selection of stuff and a Farmers Market packed with produce. Good work Mightyworld put a smile on the Toyology staff's faces today after a weary night battling Zombies, more on that later.
