R2D2 Arrives

After an epic wait for the all-singing and dancing (well almost) Artoo Entertainment unit it looks likes the deliveries have begun. Chris Moyles, the Radio One yob, told of his surprise when one arrived at the weekend, his purchase was apparently made sometime last year whilst under the influence. A total of 2,500 have been made and our freinds at Red5 have a few coming in the next couple of weeks. At £2k this is a fair investment but the satisfaction of beaing a 60-inch screen from your 270 degree swivelling R2D2 head is priceless.

Speed Racer Slots

Anyone looking for a slot-racing track that doesn't induce that almost hypnotic movement of the head and Zombie like trigger control might fancy a track based around the all-action blockbuster film Speedracer. None of the Doctors foes strike fear into viewers as much as the Daleks, the appearance of them on screen had fans across the country ducking behind sofas, even running upstairs for safety (a huge design fault for a race set on world domination). Crack the Whip

All that’s needed is the famous Fedora and this FX whip and overzealous Indiana Jones fans have all they need for their imaginative escapades. Get into character with this Electronic Whip from Hasbro designed to fit hands of all ages. It even come with carry strap you attach to your belt loops so it’s easily accessible when you need scare some snakes, or the neighbours’ cat. We were lucky enough to get a sneak preview of the whip at Toy Fair and to be honest we were a bit disappointed at first sight, but then we found out it plays the theme tune and makes whip cracking sounds so we weren’t disappointed for long. It’s out in May and will be around £15.

Mugg Shots

These trendy figurines are a briiiiiliant collaboration between Star Wars characters and vinyl collectables and are being released by Hasbro so you can enjoy the pleasure of these funky figures in your own home. The collection of Might Muggs includes all the perennial favourites such as Chewbacca, Luke Skywalker and C3-PO.

Marathon Man

In 2006 charity fundraiser Lloyd Scott walked the London Marathon wearing a deep sea divers suit, it took the man over eight days to complete the 26 mile course wearing the back-breaking kit to raise a whopping £2mn. Last year it was Indiana Jones with  a stone ball behind. This year he is donning an Iron Man costume based onthe animated flick, the outfit is 9ft in height and weighs in at 70 pounds.
