Paladone’s 4 multiplayer choice Shocking Quiz is designed to test your general knowledge. Answer correctly in the time given and you’re laughing, get it wrong however and you’re in for quite a shock - high or low voltage at the quiz master’s discretion.
Toyologist Test – Weekend Trial
The self explanatory title gives the name of the game away so if you whinge, cry or complain don’t expect any sympathy – you knew what you were getting yourself into. This quiz is great if you have any know-it-all friends or family, which let’s face it, we all do. The shock they’ll receive for getting an answer wrong will be sure to shut them up and leave you feeling very smug. Questions range from ‘Who would say “It’s morphing time?”’ to ‘On the London Underground, which line has only 6 miles of its total 41.5 miles underground?” So as you can probably tell, some questions are just setting you up for a shocking. Although there are 4 hand-held controls, one of them has to be controlled by the quizmaster who is exempt from the fear of getting shocked because they have to select the correct answer to shock (or not) the other players. If you’re feeling particularly evil you can cheat and make all your friends get zapped just for the hell of it – cue evil laugh now...mwoohahaha. Never has the quizmasters roll been so sought after. You can choose a quizmaster the way it is suggested – roll the dice and whoever gets the highest score will be the quiz master - or you might like to do what we did which was to just announce that one of us will be the quizmaster!! This may cause a few arguments though. You are supplied with 600 multiple choice questions to test your wit, and again, you could just do what we did which was make up our own questions – there is more room for error this way – only satisfying if you’re the quizmaster though. You may think you’re a whiz at the pub quiz but this quiz might just prove you otherwise. This game does come with a caution – we recommend that only players 16+ should take part otherwise you’ll be consoling crying children all night.
Verdict
What’s so brilliant about the Shocking Quiz is that it’s not only disappointment and shame you’ll feel for getting an answer wrong, you’ll feel pain – well not quite – but it’s not a pleasurable shock let us tell you – fun nonetheless. Play too much, and we mean toooooo much, you’ll begin to notice your hands beginning to shake ever so slightly. Don’t worry it’s not life threatening and will only last a few minutes. It’s also a great laugh after a few alcoholic beverages. What we’d like to see is this gadgetry on game shows. We’re sure ratings would go up if people were shocked not to mention that it would make great TV. The stakes are high and so is the voltage which all adds to its appeal.
For all its greatness we’re giving it a Gold Toyology badge. You’ll have such a laugh playing with it and trying really hard not to get shocked or if you’re the quizmaster for the reasons given above.
